Tokyo—Origami Inc. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Founder & CEO: Yoshiki Yasui, “Origami”)
announced today that it established Origami Financial Services Co., Ltd. on September 9, 2019.

Origami is leading the way in Japan in providing safe, economic and convenient mobile payment
services. The newly established Origami Financial Services Co., Ltd. will leverage the power of
digital technology to provide flexible and convenient financing (lending), investment (growth of
personal wealth), insurance (preparation) and other financial services with partner
Miyuki Masaki, Origami Financial Services’ President & CEO, made the following comment regarding the company’s establishment: “Japan is the first of the world’s developed countries to face the challenges caused by population decline due to an aging population and low birthrates. This situation requires us to redefine financial services, so they meet the needs of the times. Young people in Japan are asking how they can create richer lives when interest rates and guarantees are at extremely low levels, while being uncertain of whether they will be able to collect enough public pension benefits in the future. Origami Financial Services will use technology to update financial services to match this next generation of lifestyle. By making information accessible to all and improving people’s knowledge regarding money, Origami Financial Services aims to realize a diverse society where everyone can choose a life of freedom through new values.”
A full list of services will be released and expanded after Origami Financial Services registers with the necessary government agencies. Further information regarding services and a release schedule will be announced in future news releases as it becomes available.
